Hello everyone, I thought it wold be a good idea today to talk about Blue Monday as it falls on this day every year.

For some backstory to this day, in 2004 psychologist and motivational speaker Cliff Arnall came up with the idea of ‘Blue Monday’ after he was approached by now-defunct British travel firm Sky Travel to come up with a formula to determine the year’s saddest day.

Every year people find January a particularly challenging month. We can often find this period difficult for many reasons, some completely different to others. The most common are due to the cold and dark mornings/nights, money being tight between paydays and reduced activity and leisure time due to daylight being shorter.

Thankfully, the UK gets lighter by 2 minutes and 7 seconds each day following the Winter Solstice on 21 December. This equates to an extra hour of daylight a month from 18 January onwards.

It is important to remember that at this time of year, many people are in the same boat as you and that it is ok to talk about the struggles you are having. This forum is dedicated to hearing your voices and connecting all the men out there who don’t have someone to talk to.
