Hello everyone, with it being Men’s Health Week I thought it would be a good idea to spread some information about a new scheme in Manchester.

The Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance(GMCA) have launched a new scheme in Manchester to help Men who are black and over 45 or over 45 with a family history of prostate cancer. The project is a mobile clinic which goes around different areas of Manchester offering free PSA checks.

The idea behind the project is to find men who are at risk of prostate cancer so that they can be diagnosed earlier to ultimately save lives as when caught earlier prostate cancer is often more treatable and men are more likely to make a full recovery.

A friend of Manchester Men Speak Up, Neil, has recorded a walkthrough of his experience with ThisVanCan. Please watch the following informative video to learn about the project, how it works and how you can book an appointment to get your PSA check now

ThisVanCan. Mobile PSA Tests: A walkthrough with Neil at Healthwatch Manchester

        To book an appointment please:
        Call – 07974074111 or Email – millie.wadley1@nhs.net

Alternatively, please see the GMCA website for dates, times and the location of the van for your appointments.
